Youth worker.

Why did you decide to volunteer to teach the Free To Be program?

I really wished there was a program like this when I was growing up! A program like this is so important because it provides a strong foundation and gives youth tools that will be useful all throughout their life.

What gets your excited to jump out of bed in the morning?

Lately it is yoga! I really like yoga and spending time with my friends. On a weekend I get really excited about going to the flea market. But during the week I get really excited about planning new committees and events for my work.

What is something you are proud of?

My mom and I did the Camino de Santiago in Spain a few years ago. We walked over 800km from one end of Spain to other. It was the most challenging thing I have ever done but definitely the thing I am most proud of.

In your mind what is the most important thing that Free To Be teaches?

To find value in other areas besides your appearance. It really allows participants to almost pause, step out and get a new perspective which is so important.

If you could go back and give your 12-year old self a piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t worry so much! Get out there, play soccer with the boys, wear the clothes you want to wear and releaxJ
